MNDR and WonderSound recently participated in the MINI Countryman Wanderlust series, a multi-regional event soliciting artists across the nation to create various one-of-a-kind adventures in non-traditional settings. On May 4th, local New York City guests were invited to drive upstate in their personal Mini Coopers to experience a unique audiovisual installation in the woods at sunset. WonderSound’s Peter Wade and Amanda Warner from MNDR, musician and video artist Greg Zifcak, and artists Rob Seward, Jamie Careirro, and 0thers contributed to the experience.

On Friday April 15, MNDR played to a packed house at the Brooklyn Museum, the first show for the season’s Audiophile Series. Poised in the spacious, modern glass entrance atop a freshly built stage with her trademark light projections, MNDR’s set included a stripped down “I Go Away,” new single “Cut Me Out,” and a first-time performance of “Broken Hearts.” The audience enjoyed a complimentary vodka hour and an opening set by New Villager, engulfed in the captivating setting of art in its many forms.

Brooklyn Vegan was on hand to witness MNDR’s sold-out performance at the Bowery Ballroom in New York, opening for Yacht. Looks like it was a crazy show with projections in full effect:

“I don’t want to make a record,” says Amanda Warner, a.k.a. the latest, hottest, most effervescent minimal-techno electro-pop project to hit Brooklyn. “I want every song to be a number one. I want it to be huge and the best thing I can make.” Warner came to Bushwick last winter by way of Oakland, California–but it was in her hometown of Fargo, North Dakota, that she learned to multitrack at the age of nine. “I’m a mega, mega gear nerd,” she admits. MNDR has been building steam over the past couple months through her blog, MySpace, and her frequent party gigs.

Bushwick’s MNDR was a breath of fresh air in the sweaty basement of the ACE Hotel, jumping from keyboards, knob-turning, and moving the crowd with her incredibly fun and tech-no-logic set.
