WonderSound is proud to announce it’s newest act, Psychobuildings. The NY band is currently in the studio working on their first full length with producer Peter Wade, and their debut self-titled EP drops this July via All Hands Electric. The six song EP delivers upbeat-yet-dark dance grooves just in time for summer.

MNDR and WonderSound recently participated in the MINI Countryman Wanderlust series, a multi-regional event soliciting artists across the nation to create various one-of-a-kind adventures in non-traditional settings. On May 4th, local New York City guests were invited to drive upstate in their personal Mini Coopers to experience a unique audiovisual installation in the woods at sunset. WonderSound’s Peter Wade and Amanda Warner from MNDR, musician and video artist Greg Zifcak, and artists Rob Seward, Jamie Careirro, and 0thers contributed to the experience.

After the devastating earthquake in Japan, WonderSound friends The Freelance Whales asked us to participate in a benefit EP to help Japan rebuild. We remixed “Hannah” and here’s how we did it.

The remix was programmed primarily on a Roland Jupiter 6 analog synth tracked through a Universal Audio 2-610 and Distressor. I cut up the original drums from the session, re-amped them, and layered them with 12 bit drum samples from my Yamaha RX5 drum machine.  The concept was to build slowly, drop everything out and then experience a brain overload where we throw everything at it. With a stunning mix from studio engineer Emmett Farley, the remix of the popular single “Hannah” was born.

WonderSound latest riddim project “Tip Pon Toe” has leaked to the internet. Named after Rihanna’s scorching version (penned by Peter Wade and Angela Hunte (who also penned “New York” for Alicia Keys and Jay-Z)), the “Tip Pon Toe” riddim also features wicked versions from Spragga Benz, Shelene, Don Rey and Stamma Ramma and is now voicing additional artists.  Check it out here:

“I don’t want to make a record,” says Amanda Warner, a.k.a. the latest, hottest, most effervescent minimal-techno electro-pop project to hit Brooklyn. “I want every song to be a number one. I want it to be huge and the best thing I can make.” Warner came to Bushwick last winter by way of Oakland, California–but it was in her hometown of Fargo, North Dakota, that she learned to multitrack at the age of nine. “I’m a mega, mega gear nerd,” she admits. In house producer, Peter Wade was recently tapped as an industry guest for this year’s ASCAP Foundation Paul Cunningham Songwriters Workshop. The workshop features guest speakers giving advice on topics including A&R, songwriting, music publishing, artist management, legal issues, etc.

Peter listened to and critiqued songs, and spoke about the music business from his perspective, writing and producing both mainstream pop music as well as developing  homegrown independent artists.
