MNDR has released a surprise new breakdown of pop track “Cut Me Out.”  Producer Peter Wade created this exclusive driving Dub version, specifically for Green Label Sound fans. It’s MNDR remixing MNDR and it’s free for download here!

Drums were sequenced on a Linn Drum and tracked right to analog 1/2″ tape with spring and delay printed live.  Wade and Warner then laid live bass guitar, synths and hand claps recorded with natural reverb from the front hall of Wade’s former studio “LaBronze Johnson”.  Two original heavily processed Jupiter-6 sounds were created to make up the synth bassline and pads.  Then the FX were overdubbed while Warner kicked and prodded the spring reverb tank and Wade dialed up delay throws.

Fresh from the blogosphere, check out the Oos & Ahhs Dubstep remix of MNDR’s “I Go Away.” This is an unsolicited fan remix, and we love it! It’s an upbeat surprise and a very fresh spin on the track.

MNDR was in studio with John Schaefer at WNYC this past Friday, December 17th. As part of the Soundcheck program, she performed a few songs live in studio and talked about collaborating with Mark Ronson, the writing process, and her various successes of the past year.

MNDR was given Pitchforks’s “Best New Music” stamp in their review of “I Go Away” from her debut EP.

Brooklyn’s Amanda Warner makes dynamic electro-pop under the moniker MNDR, and she’s been building buzz with her project while also working with folks like Mark Ronson. “I Go Away”, a major highlight from the her debut EP, E.P.E., is filled with distinctive synths that melt all over a spare, echoing drum beat like a candy house left out in the hot sun. It’s a serious slow-dance pop confection, but Warner keeps a clear head lyrically. “I Go Away” initially sounds like a post-relationship-fallout slow burner, as she asks, “How did I get here/ Without feeling anything”. Soon, though, you realize that she isn’t calming down– she’s getting pumped up. “This is my anthem/ I know it like I know everything”, Warner softly declares, as if she’s getting ready to step out in front of the curtain, before letting out titular squeaks during a chorus that favorably evokes Santigold as the track builds to its cathartic peak.

NME has selected MNDR’s “Fade to Black” for the latest installment of it’s Radar Mixtape series. NME’s Radar Mixtape Volume 3 is stocked with some great other “breakthrough” artists such as Funeral Party, Twin Sister, and MNDR stage-sharer, Class Actress. The mixtape is available as a free download, so get it while it’s hot!

Brooklyn Vegan posted MNDR’s track “I Go Away” on their website as a free download as a follow up to their announcement of MNDR’s upcoming tour with YACHT. Listen to the “I Go Away” here.

The music blog Not Many Experts featured MNDR in their “New Noise” section, calling her a “genuine star”. Describing her track “C.L.U.B.” as “the perfect balance between kooky charm and radio rollicking accessibility,” they’d bet everyone else will start referring to MNDR as a “genuine star” pretty soon, too.

MNDR’s “Fade to Black” was featured in the Singles File column of the Washington Post. They described it as an “infectious dance-pop track” and we’re tempted to agree.

The one-woman DJ squad MNDR (pronounced “mandar”) is spearheading the second wave of vowel-less electro acts from Brooklyn, aided by this infectious dance-pop track.
